Robert has provided professional investment advice for over a decade. He began his career in 2000 as an Investment Representative with Edward Jones, in Wilmington, NC. After leaving Edward Jones in 2008, he founded Wheeler Financial Management, Inc., an independent LPL Financial branch office. In 2011, Robert joined the team at Haines Financial, LLC. The consultants of Haines Financial are part of LPL Financial’s national network of independent financial service providers.

Robert holds his Series 7, 63, and 66 securities registrations with LPL Financial, as well as Life, Annuity, and Long Term Care insurance licenses. He successfully completed the counselor training program from Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University, and he has also facilitated their community and corporate classes, which focus on budgeting and debt reduction. Robert is currently pursuing the designations of Accredited Asset Management Specialist (AAMS) and Accredited Wealth Management Advisor (AWMA) from the College for Financial Planning.

Robert advises clients on financial issues such as saving for college and retirement, income distribution in retirement, and transferring wealth to future generations. He helps clients identify investment risks and financial goals and then he develops a strategy to work towards those goals while managing risk. He believes that helping clients achieve financial independence will allow them more time to focus on other important aspects of their life such as family, career, and other interests.

Robert, a North Carolina native, grew up in Sampson County where he achieved Eagle Scout as a teenager. He is a graduate of North Carolina State University where he received his Bachelor of Science (BS) in Industrial Engineering in 1993. Before starting his career in the financial industry, Robert owned and operated a successful family business, Taste Of Country Restaurant. Robert is married to his wife, Tanya, who is a physical therapist at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. He is a member of Northside Baptist Church and the NC State Alumni Association. He enjoys dancing, spending time with family, and landscaping his yard.
